Paul is certified by the NRA as an instructor  specifically authorized to teach the following classes: NRA FIRST Steps,  NRA  Basic Pistol,  NRA Personal Protection, and Refuse to Be a Victim seminar.  He is also an NRA Training Counselor, where he can conduct classes for people interested in becoming an NRA certified instructor.

Paul is also approved by Minnesota to be a Permit to Carry instructor (and to certify others wishing to teach the Minnesota class); by the State of Nebraska as a Concealed Weapons Instructor for their Permit; and by the State of Utah as a Concealed Firearms Instructor for the Utah Permit to Carry. (Utah?? Why Utah??  It is because the Utah non-resident Permit is honored in about 30 States, and is an excellent Permit to secure if you do a lot of travelling. Unlike a driver's license, a Permit to Carry is generally recognized in only the State of its issuance and at best a few others; Utah is one of the States that has fairly broad recognition in the United States).

Paul has participated in advanced "tactical classes" and has substantial experience training people of all ages and backgrounds to be safe and responsible handgun owners. He is also a retired attorney, and as such is very knowledgable on the various laws involving self-defense.
